Energy Savings for Business: Overview of how to submit a Post-Project Application and Change Request

In a webinar on Thursday, May 27, 2021, the Energy Savings for Business (ESB) Support team reviewed the Post-Project Application and Change Request processes. The webinar covered eligibility requirements, application requirements and how to submit a post-project application through the program portal. It also covered how to submit a change request, should you wish to modify your project after pre-approval and what types of changes require a change request.

We encourage you to watch the webinar or review the posted presentation before starting a Change Request or Post-Project Application. This will ensure a more streamlined submission process and successful application or request.


ERA’s ESB Program—a funding opportunity to support small- and medium-scale industrial and commercial businesses—is awarding up to $55 million for cost-saving and emissions reducing projects. The program will help Alberta businesses reduce emissions, decrease operating costs, grow their operations and become more competitive, while creating skilled jobs and boosting economic recovery.

The focus of the program is to increase the adoption of targeted commercially available energy saving technologies. The program is open to all industries and business types across Alberta except for Large Emitters as defined under the TIER Regulation, new construction, federal and provincially-owned buildings, and the institutional sector (municipalities, universities, schools and hospitals).
