Alberta Innovates and Emissions Reduction Alberta (ERA) are pleased to announce that Premier Rachel Notley is scheduled to speak at SPARK 2017, the clean technology conference being co-hosted by the two provincial organizations next month.
Premier Notley will address the gathering during a plenary session on Tuesday, Nov. 7. In addition, all SPARK attendees will have the opportunity to hear from Deron Bilous, Minister of Economic Development and Trade, and Shannon Phillips, Minister of Environment and Parks and the Minister Responsible for the Climate Change Office. The ministers are scheduled to speak during plenaries on Nov. 7 and Nov. 8, respectively.
With more than 80 speakers now confirmed, the SPARK 2017 program is designed to spur research and innovation at the intersection where energy, the environment and economic development meet.
ERA and Alberta Innovates have joined forces to accelerate scale-up of technologies and products that will reduce greenhouse gas emissions. The conference is also aimed at advancing research, development and commercialization of technologies and bioproducts (advanced materials, biochemicals and bioenergy) using forest and agricultural biomass available in Alberta.
