CSV Midstream will be deploying the first gas processing facility in Alberta to implement an industrial heat pump, marking a significant step in sustainable thermal energy management. Scheduled for installation and commissioning in 2025, the 5.5 MW heat pump system will fully replace the existing natural gas boiler, effectively eliminating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The upgrade will employ onsite generators to supply an additional 1.9 MW of electricity for the heat pump, simultaneously improving the efficiency of the generators. By transitioning from fossil fuel-based heating to an electrically powered solution CSV Midstream anticipates significant CO2e reductions.
