Leveraging the Eavor-Loop technology demonstrated in a previous ERA-funded project, Eavor plans to develop a novel drilling and construction system called Eavor-Jules.
Eavor-Loop is a closed-loop geothermal system that circulates fluid through a sealed, buried pipe network to extract heat and generate power. Eavor-Jules builds on the standard Eavor-Loop multilateral construction by increasing depth to access superhot energy resources. This ultra-deep drilling and construction will increase the energy produced by each loop and reduce the levelized cost of electricity. To date, Eavor-Jules’ development has focused on engineering, modelling, and prototype testing. This project will advance technology readiness through manufacturing, commissioning, and an integrated shallow-field demonstration.
