The Alberta Concentration Plant, managed by DIW Buildings and Land Corporation (DBLC), was created in partnership with Alberta Milk, Dairy Farmers of Manitoba, SaskMilk, and the BC Dairy Industry Development Council. Addressing the growing demand for dairy in Western Canada, this leading edge facility produces a concentrated milk product that reduces transportation energy and cost. DBLC acts as an intermediary between producers and processors by removing water and separating components from milk. This innovative approach lowers raw milk hauling costs and minimizes environmental impacts, cutting 4500 truck trips annually and saving $15–$17 million in transportation fees.

The facility will feature a cutting-edge water treatment system that recycles all water removed from milk to support internal cleaning processes and enhance sustainability.
