Qube Technologies is developing the next generation of continuous emissions monitoring systems to help industrial operators detect, quantify, and reduce methane and other greenhouse gas emissions faster and more effectively. Building on its proven fenceline platform, Qube is advancing two new hardware technologies: (i) a ‘safe methane sensor’, which is an affordable visual system for emission verification and site awareness; and (ii) a software platform which aggregates and interprets sensor data. The expanded software platform integrates data from multiple sensing modalities and SCADA systems to deliver actionable insights for rapid mitigation. The proposed project is being considered for funding under ERA’s Building on Success policy, following ERA’s successful $4.0 million investment in Qube’s pilot program where the concept was advanced from prototype to a field-proven system. The project will see a number of field trials in Alberta across a variety of upstream and midstream oil and gas sites provided by confirmed industry partners.
