Global Dynamics aims to advance NautilXTM, its drilling and multilateral well re-entry technology, which addresses key inefficiencies in multilateral wells (wells with multiple branches). Currently, options for reliably re-entering multilateral branches, treating unproductive branches, isolating select branches, or extending existing branches are limited. When operators cannot consistently re-enter the right branch, replacement drilling is often the practical option, increasing costs, fuel use, surface disturbance, and emissions. To address this, NautilXTM allows operators to accurately locate, enter, and confirm access to lateral branches using real-time downhole sensing, directional control, and surface-controlled steering.
During the project, Global Dynamics will move from a field demonstration with a single well to a deployment-ready configuration for multilateral wells. After laboratory validation and tool manufacturing, the system will be piloted across 20 to 30 commercial multilateral wells to demonstrate repeatable entry, consistent accuracy, and durability.
