RoBIM Technologies Inc. is launching the Highly-modular, Intelligent, Versatile Ecosystem (HIVE), an advanced robotic fabrication platform designed to transform Alberta’s construction industry. Construction productivity in Alberta has stagnated for decades, as labour shortages, housing demands, and climate objectives increase. HIVE addresses these challenges with a modular, scalable robotic system capable of fabricating a wide range of building components, such as wall panels and retrofit assemblies, with improved speed, precision, and material efficiency. The platform integrates RoBIM’s AI-driven software, which imports Building Information Models (BIM) and automatically generates control paths, with reconfigurable micro-factories that use multifunctional robotic arms and end-effectors.
RoBIM plans to establish Alberta’s first Robotic Factory as a Service (RFaaS) facility, deploy four production-grade HIVE systems, and validate their impact on greenhouse gas emissions, costs, quality, and productivity.
