CertainTeed Canada, Inc. is intending to pursue upgrades at its Redcliff Insulation Manufacturing Plant. The project includes four components: (i) furnace upgrade to increase glass melting capacity and reduce energy consumption; (ii) implementing an innovative fiberizing process to reduce natural gas usage; (iii) installing an energy-efficient curing oven to reduce natural gas usage; and (iv) installing Industry 4.0 capabilities, including production sensors, to establish a real-time energy management system. These contemplated upgrades will increase production capacity while maintaining and extending operations within the existing plant footprint. The facility will provide 120-130 temporary jobs during construction and commissioning, and position the Redcliff facility as a flagship for sustainable manufacturing in Alberta and beyond.
