From 2026 to 2028, Canadian Natural will implement new technologies to improve in-pond mixing of fine and coarse tailings. By using inline flocculation for fluid and thickened tailings, the project aims to create more stable deposits, reduce fluid inventories, and cut reliance on energy-intensive centrifugation. These advancements support efficient tailings management and Canadian Natural’s long-term reclamation and sustainability goals.
