LithiumBank is a leading developer of lithium brine resources in Alberta and holds the largest and highest-grade lithium resources in the province. The company is collaborating with SLB, which has created an end-to-end process involving resource quantification, Direct Lithium Extraction (DLE), polishing, and processing to produce a battery-grade product. Funding from ERA is directed toward advancing the Boardwalk project to commercial production, including a feasibility study to evaluate commercial viability, drilling an additional well and lithium processing. The project’s goal is to prepare LithiumBank for the deployment of its first commercial-scale DLE module, with the potential for future scaling within the company’s assets and across Alberta. Pilot tests show that the technology aligns with many of Alberta’s brine compositions, and a demonstration plant in Nevada indicates readiness for commercial deployment.
