The Lacombe Biorefinery project planned to showcase Biosphere Technologies’ technology that processed organic landfill waste to produce energy. The project was funded through Round 3: Renewable Energy in 2012 and was expected to process approximately 174 tonnes of feedstock per day, to produce approximately 12.5 tonnes of biogas. Ultimately, the funding relationship was cancelled.
