ENMAX explores carbon capture unit at its Shepard Energy Centre

ENMAX hopes to make the Shepard Energy Centre home to the first commercial-scale natural-gas combined-cycle (NGCC) carbon capture unit in North America. The facility is already used as a performance benchmark for emissions intensity and emissions efficiency in Alberta and across Canada for NGCC facilities. Now, ENMAX Energy Corporation has received over $3 million in funding from ERA from the Carbon Capture Kickstart funding call to support a front-end engineering and design (FEED) study. This FEED study will help determine the feasibility of constructing and integrating a carbon capture unit at the Shepard Energy Centre, with the goal of becoming an industry-leading facility for carbon capture and storage.
