Every aspect of modern life relies on electricity. The electricity grid must continue to deliver power reliably and safely, while enabling clean electricity technologies and adapting to changing customer expectations. The ENMAX Connect project will optimize energy flows on the electricity distribution system by collecting data from a mix of ENMAX distribution equipment and customer distributed energy resources (DERs) such as solar PV and battery energy storage systems. It will leverage advanced analytics to support the integration of a new digital grid management solution with existing operating technologies. As a first-in-kind demonstration project in Alberta, ENMAX Connect will demonstrate how an optimized electricity system can enable customers to electrify their lives in a reliable and affordable manner.
