Enerkem Inc. develops community-based advanced bio refineries using proprietary thermo-chemical technology that converts residual materials, such as municipal solid waste, into clean transportation fuels and advanced chemicals.
By using waste materials to produce clean biofuels and incorporating CO2 directly into the process, this renewable energy project in Edmonton demonstrates the potential of the technology. Once testing at the Advanced Energy Research Facility is complete, this City of Edmonton and Alberta Innovates joint renewable energy technology could be implemented at Enerkem’s Edmonton facility.
